Before any of this, I was a lawyer. Then a marketer. Then a sports entrepreneur. The throughline across all of it — the thing I couldn't escape — was a compulsion to learn and to teach. That's my purpose. Always has been.

I've been a competitive athlete my entire life. Baseball at Duke. Shotokan Karate — second-degree black belt, with a 20-year gap in the middle that the pandemic ended. Triathlons, cycling, open water swimming, and road racing for the past 25 years. I genuinely enjoy suffering. The hours in the saddle, the pavement pounding, the endless crawling around a chilly San Francisco Bay at 6am — I'm here for all of it.

When the pandemic hit, I watched my community lose its mojo. People were struggling to stay active, stay connected, stay sane. That scrappy pivot became Foghorn Fitness. Foghorn Fitness is the San Francisco-based company behind the Slowfit Method®.

I’ve spent years now piling up certifications, devouring research and other relevant info, and testing it on my athletes and on myself. I continue to train folks live—in person and via Zoom—but now my athletes have me in their back pockets 24/7, with the new launch of my Slowfit Method App (available in the App Store).
